Content-decay radar

Two data sources catch articles that used to earn traffic and are slipping.

What it does

GA4 page views cross with GSC search performance to grade every article into five tiers: fresh, stable, fading, decaying, stale — a 25% single-source drop is a warning, a 50% double-source drop is a patient in intensive care.

Scans queue refreshes by priority and generate a refresh recipe per article. Each row also carries a cannibalization badge marking it victim or winner of your own newer pages — internal competition gets treated before any rewrite.

Core capabilities

Five decay tiers

Fresh to stale, cross-verified across two sources — no false alarms.

Refresh recipes

Concrete refresh guidance per article, queued as executable tasks.

Cannibalization badges

A slipping page is diagnosed as decay or self-competition first — the prescriptions differ.

Feature checklist

  • GA4 contributes 56 days of per-page views; GSC contributes 28 days of search performance
  • Fading = one source down 25-50%; decaying = both down 50-70%; stale = 90+ days and 70%+ cumulative drop
  • Scan output carries victim/winner badges so internal theft is visible at a glance
